Situation

Three nouns

Your prompt

Control-V is a three word prompt generator that always returns three nouns plus a short, fun, realistic situation you can paste into a story, drawing, or improv scene. Press Paste three words for a topic paragraph and three equal noun chips, then use the 30, 60, or 90 second round timer on this page. Draws use crypto.getRandomValues with no-repeat pools until you reset. Copy or share the result. This is not random word, which is one Pictionary noun, and not adjective or verb lists.

Why Control-V is three nouns plus a situation

Random word answers one drawable noun for Pictionary. Writing prompts hand you a fiction hook. Icebreaker asks a spoken question. Control-V exists because improv groups, classrooms, and writing clubs often need three concrete nouns forced into an everyday scene, not a single kitchen chip and not a grammar exercise with adjectives or verbs. The topic is a full sentence such as you are a customer in a shop and you just broke some glass. The three chips are independent noun pools so repeats are rare. We do not label them person, place, or thing. We do not ship doorway URLs or adult dumps. If you only need one noun to sketch, random word is honest. If you need a conversation starter, icebreaker is the sibling.

How to run a Control-V round in this panel

Choose 30, 60, or 90 seconds in round timer if you want a countdown on this tab. Press Paste three words. Read the situation paragraph aloud, then work the three noun chips into that scene in speech, writing, or a quick drawing. Press copy result or share when the group wants the same triple elsewhere. Press reset pool when the noun or topic decks should start over. The classroom timer sibling is only for a giant projector clock, not for hiding the words. Mute is not required; the timer text shows time is up. Your last timer choice can sit in localStorage. Do not expect adjective or verb chips; this build draws nouns only.

How the three nouns and topic are drawn

Three separate noun pools and one topic pool are shuffled with crypto.getRandomValues through TheOwlBay.shuffle. Each press pops one topic and one noun from each pool without replacement until reset pool restocks them. Topics are classroom-safe situation sentences, not single place names. Nouns are concrete everyday words mixable into the scene. We do not claim true randomness or scrape prompt farms. Datasets are injected per locale at build time so zh and ar see real words in those languages, not English leftovers. Empty pools show a clear message asking for reset. Share URLs encode the visible topic and nouns; they stay noindex like other result cards.

Who this three word prompt is for

Improv teams, ELA teachers running a two-minute warm-up, and friends who want a pasteable challenge will use Control-V more than a single-word generator. It is for groups that can handle a slightly awkward everyday situation, not for toddlers tapping animal tiles and not for a spelling bee list. Drama coaches may pair it with charades when the job is words in a scene rather than acting a title. Writers who only need one noun should stay on random word. Party hosts who need a greeting or a gift type have different URLs. TheOwlBay does not grade the story. Ads stay off until the catalog says otherwise. Use the which-tool links when the next job is one noun, a question, or a bingo sheet.
