Privacy policy

What we collect

TheOwlBay tools run in your browser. Names and lists you enter are stored locally on your device (localStorage) so your class list survives a refresh. We do not send that data to our servers by default. The contact form is the exception: Google Forms receives the fields you submit there.

Analytics

Google Analytics (GA4) loads on every visit to help us understand which tools are used. We use anonymized IP settings.

Kids game pages do not show advertisements, but Google Analytics still loads on those visits the same as on adult tools. Lists, mute settings, and game progress stay in localStorage on your device only.

Cloud AI

Some tools include Extended (AI) generate. When you press Generate, text you paste is sent to TheOwlBay’s AI service on Cloudflare Workers AI. Prompts are not stored on TheOwlBay servers by default.

Secret Santa links

Secret Santa participant links use an encrypted URL fragment on your device. Anyone with the full link can see that assignment. Do not post links in group chats.

Advertising

We may show display advertisements (e.g. Google AdSense) in the future. Ad networks may use cookies to serve relevant ads. You can control ad personalization in your Google account settings. Ad slots are currently disabled in the site code until traffic thresholds are met.

Kids game pages do not show ad slots. Ads stay off on the For children hub and every tap game linked from it, even if advertising is enabled later on adult tools. Mute and pool progress on those pages still use localStorage on this device only.

Cookies

Google Analytics may set cookies on each visit. Tool data (class lists, coin labels) is stored in localStorage on your device, not on our servers.

Contact form

Messages sent from the contact page are processed by Google Forms. Google receives the topic, optional page name, message, and optional email. We use that to answer questions and improve the tools. Do not send passwords, class lists, or photos of people. Email is optional; we only reply if you leave one.
