Sweepstake generator

Last updated: 25 August 2026

This sweepstake generator is a hat draw: paste people in one box, paste teams, horses, or films in the other, and assign them 1:1. Leftovers are listed so an extra team or an extra person is visible. Copy or print the pairs. It is not a tournament bracket (who plays whom) and not football squares (a score grid). World Cup 2026 is over; this URL stays generic. Draws use crypto.getRandomValues. Lists stay in localStorage.

Why a sweepstake generator is not a bracket

A hat draw answers who gets which team, horse, or film. A tournament bracket answers who plays whom. Football squares fills a score grid. This sweepstake generator exists so an office March Madness pool, a Grand National chat, or an Oscars film draw can pair people 1:1 without a second spreadsheet. Publish-by for US basketball is early March 2027 (Selection Sunday 14 March; Madness 16 March–5 April). Women’s World Cup 2027 can reuse the same URL with a new team list. We will not brand the H1 with a finished tournament. Leftovers are honest: extra items or extra people are labeled instead of silently dropped. If you need to play the ties, open the bracket. If you need a 10×10 football board, open squares.

How to draw from the hat

Paste people in the first box and teams, horses, or films in the second, one per line. Press draw from the hat. Read the pairs, then copy pairs or print. If counts differ, leftover lines show what was not paired. Add names or items and draw again. Both lists can sit in localStorage. You need entries in both boxes or the page asks you to add them. Share a result URL if it fits; long Oscars lists may print cleaner. Do not paste a full World Cup 2026 recap — that tournament ended 19 July 2026; use current teams.

How 1:1 pairs are made

Both lists are shuffled with crypto.getRandomValues and zipped together until the shorter list runs out. Leftover names or leftover items are shown with a leftover label so the room can add a guest or retire a team. There is no weighting and no “protected” seed unless you simply omit that line. We do not fetch FIFA, NCAA, or racing data. We do not score your bracket. localStorage is this device. The draw is not a sealed server envelope; it is a browser shuffle you can repeat if the room agrees.

Who this hat draw is for

Offices running a team sweep, families drawing horses, and film clubs assigning Oscars pictures before 14 March 2027. It is for 1:1 assignment, not for playing the matches. It is not a sportsbook and not a live odds board. Teachers can draw book titles or history topics the same way. If you needed wedding tables, that seating tool keeps plus-ones together. If you needed a draft order of managers, use the draft order generator. TheOwlBay will not message the group with their team; copy the pairs into the chat you already have.

FAQ

How is this different from a tournament bracket?

The bracket plays the ties. This sweepstake generator assigns each person one team, horse, or film.

What if there are extra teams?

They show as leftover after the 1:1 pairs. Add people or remove items and draw again.

Is this a World Cup 2026 page?

No. That tournament is finished. Paste any current list of teams; the URL stays generic.

Can I print the pairs?

Yes. Copy pairs or print after you draw from the hat.

I wanted a football score grid.

Use football squares for a 10×10 board. This page is only people × items.
